HiFiver Installation Guidance

The installation of the HiFiver is generally straightforward; however, we strongly recommend that a qualified professional undertake the process. It is essential to affix the HiFiver to a solid, stable surface capable of withstanding the force generated during use. The necessary tools for securing the device to a wood stud—commonly located behind drywall or paneling—are included. For installations involving alternative wall types or supports, specialized hardware is available through our online store. Please be advised that mounting the device directly to drywall, even when using anchors, is not effective.

Warnings:

Always wear protective gear like work gloves and goggles to avoid injury during assembly.
Wall coverings can hide utilities such as electrical, plumbing, gas, and other potentially dangerous/sensitive components behind them. Make sure your installation location is not near any of these potentially hidden threats. Again, a professional is recommended.
Only attempt installation in a safe and stable work area.
Be sure to protect the floor, wall or surrounding furniture with carpet, blanket or shock-absorbing materials during assembly in order not to damage them. Installation work should be done where there is enough space.
Do not overtighten the hardware as this may break the mounting components.
Having two people will make the installation easier.

Step 1

Unpack all of the HiFiver parts. NOTE: If you are missing any parts, please reach out to our Customer Service Team.

Step 2

Mark the general location where you want to install the HiFiver on the wall.

Step 3

Locate the closest stud and mark the center at the height where you intend to place the HiFiver. NOTE: If you’re not familiar with finding studs, there are many tutorials available. Here is a search to help you get started.

Step 4

Place the fabric sleeve on to the mounting arm with the narrow opening towards the hand, but don’t fully attach the elastic ends yet.

Step 5

Place the mounting plate on to the wall where you want to install the HiFiver, and make it as level as you can. Mark the center of each hole on to the wall, making sure the marks line up over your stud center mark. NOTE: The mounting plate should be oriented so that the longest side is vertical and “patent pending” is at the bottom.

Step 6

NOTE: Make sure there are no utilities or other dangerous/sensitive components hidden or visible near your installation location before continuing.

Using just the 2 bolts and the wrench, create pilot holes by screwing the bolts into the stud 1” deep at each of the marked locations.

Step 7

Unscrew and remove the bolts from the last step.

Assemble the HiFiver in this configuration:

Place the assembled HiFiver up to the wall and hand screw the bolts in to the pilot holes you previously created.

Step 10

Use the wrench to fully tighten the bolts and secure the HiFiver to your wall. There should not be any movement of the mount on the wall.

Step 11

Align the sleeve so that the seam is on the bottom: stretch one end over the mounting plate and one end over the hand. NOTE: If you put the sleeve on backwards originally, you can slide it over the hand to change it. It takes a little effort and some manipulation of the fingers, but it is possible.

Step 12

You did it! Now, start high fiving!
